“ This is the best Thai I have had in too long to remember. We had garden rolls with beef which I have never had because it’s always vegetables or shrimp. I had no idea you could have them this way. The pad Thai I also then got with beef which I have never had and it was so fresh and delicious!! Another person ordered beef pho and the broth was so flavorful. Also ordered was the hot stone fried rice with shrimp and it was all eaten by a picky 14 year old. The restaurant is light and beautifully decorated. Our server was the best! He took such good care of us and was so kind. ”

“ This is my boyfriend’s & I’s favorite hidden gem! The atmosphere is so comforting, the couch thai tea combo is great for the soul for alc lychee mojito! In all seriousness, we visited near when it first opened, the decorations, menu, and details just keep getting better. For the food animal fires with beef is a MUST every time, the paradise noodles is really good, I also like the pineapple fried rice. The crispy noodles are literally crispy which was different but enjoyable the more we ate & mixed it with the sauce. I also had the stone rock pho for this first time yesterday. I just wish the beef was marinated in the same way the animal fries are but I’m not sure if that’s counterproductive because it’s meant to be similar to a mini hot pot experience. For dense the mango mousee Nonetheless, eat here !! ”

“ Don’t miss out on this spot. First, notice the extensive drink wall behind the bar... apparently one of the owners loves to collect and share beverages from all over the world with his customers. That was the first thing I noticed. I had an awesome impromptu experience here—hands down the best pho I’ve ever had in my life (no joke... and I’ve had a lot). The broth was super flavorful and the owner (Annie) happened to stop by as I finished up and actually invited me into the kitchen to show me the massive pot where it had been simmering for 24 hours. It was such a cool moment and just shows how much heart they put into everything there. I sat and chatted with Askat (awesome bartender) getting to know him and hearing about Annie’s experience running the place. Was seriously awesome to find somewhere in the DMV that actually cares about meeting their customers and having good conversation. As for other food, I also had the chicken spring rolls to start, which were delicious and came with a bangin’ spicy peanut sauce (and treated myself to a couple mimosas ) Also have to include an explicit shout out to Askat, who was one of the friendliest bartenders I’ve met in this area and was incredibly welcoming. It made my random lunch time pop-in a genuinely pleasant experience. Between the food, the vibes, the beautiful aesthetic (white marble countertops, green velvet barstools, gold accents... amazing) and the people, Lantern seriously blew me away. Can’t wait to come back! Bringing friends immediately. ”

“ I am writing this review based on my first visit. The food, the service, and the atmosphere were extraordinary, and it was the best dining experience that we have had in recent history. We started with the garden summer rolls, which were generously proportioned and tasty. I had the caramelized fish, and although I didn't think that I would be able to eat it all because the portion was so generous, I couldn't stop myself, and I enjoyed all of it immensely, as well as the rice with which it was served. It wasn't too sweet, and it was perfectly seasoned for my taste for spicy food. My husband had the Southern Viet Bo Ko--splendid stewed beef with side options...he chose the baguette, which was crunchy and delicious...also generously proportioned. I did not take photos from that first visit, but I did from the second. They were having an off night because of an owner emergency, and anyone can forgive that. Their crispy rolls were delicious, but too greasy. The caramelized fish was not the same, but the manager was kind to replace it with the red sea fish, and that was delicious. We made the mistake of ordering pho with shrimp, and we much prefer it with beef. I will not mark down this restaurant based on one off night. ”

Some ordered from the main menu & others ordered from lunch special menu. We will return ”
